In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) and Health Canada, B-Air is conducting a voluntary recall of select units of the B-Air VP-33 blower fan. The recalled models were manufactured before January 1, 2018. VP-33 units manufactured after January 1, 2018, are not impacted by this recall.
B-Air recently discovered that the capacitor in select VP-33 blower fans made before January 2018 can overheat and create a fire hazard. The company has received 5 complaints of fire-related property damage associated with this condition. No injuries have been reported.
DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT UNTIL YOU HAVE RECEIVED THE REPAIR KIT AND COMPLETED THE REPAIRS.
The VP-33 blower fans impacted by this recall have an ETL number on the label beginning with “317” and were manufactured before January 1, 2018. The date code has four digits, as shown in the image below.
